Like a city you enfold me
In your streets I get lost at night
The pain the fear the high of flight

And spirited and trapped I fight

To gain control of the soaring light

The soaring light as I fall

When kissed by you broken by you
Glass in my skin you pushed me through

I tried to fly away from it all
Instead of catching me you let me

You let me

I fall inside you from your head to your feet
I’d die in peace if I knew you’d blink at the impact
On the concrete floor of your chest
Hollow on the inside, hard on the outside

But an echo is all that greets me

In the cold cold otherworld of your would-be

Soul.
